John Rackham - Alan

John RackhamJOHN RACKHAM trained at NENE COLLEGE and as a drama teacher at BRETTON HALL.  In 1985 John formed the MAD MOLE THEATRE COMPANY, which over the next three years toured extensively throughout the UK, and in 1992 he founded ROGUES' YARN PRODUCTIONS. His theatre work includes Marlowe in HEART OF DARKNESS (UK tour, King's Head and Exit Theatre San Francisco) and the title role in LORD JIM (Studio Theatre Canterbury University), the lead role in THE WEREWOLF (Exit theatre San Francisco), and played seven characters (including Guy, Abdulla and Ken) in EXILES (Exit Theatre SF), winning a Best of Fringe award.

Alan's TV credits include roles in THE BILL and STRANGE BUT TRUE ENCOUNTERS. His feature film work includes one of the lead roles in LEFT FOR DEAD, BLOODMYTH (which he also wrote, produced and directed), RICHARD THE THIRD and TEN DEAD MEN. John also writes  He has adapted two Joseph Conrad stories for the  stage, HEART OF DARKNESS and LORD JIM, which was commissioned by the Joseph Conrad Society.  He has adapted Boris Vian's short story THE WEREWOLF for the stage from his own translation and an original play, EXILES based on his experiences teaching English in Saudi Arabia. He is currently developing several screenplay projects.
